Initially built with simple materials — wooden poles and plastic sheeting — the school had to relocate multiple times. Since 2010, it has operated on its own plot of land in Rokel, serving about 240 children.

Despite numerous challenges — lack of proper buildings, untrained teachers, the property regularly being raided by people seeking to seize the land — the dedicated faculty has persisted. In 2022, donors helped fund a sturdy wall around the school, which now allows a school garden to thrive again without crops being stolen by neighbours or stray animals. The wall also provides a sense of safety for the children.

Poverty and crime are rampant in the area. Many children wear their backpacks on their stomachs during class, believing it better protects their belongings. Most families are unable to contribute financially to the school.
