WOW-Day: This is where your support swings into action

Kyrgyzstan, Nadjeschda Children's Centre: Caregiver for Djamillja

The curative education institution Nadjeschda in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2019. The Centre for Alternative and Free Education takes care of children and young people who have been classified as "ineducable" in Kyrgyzstan, which means that they do not receive any public funding for kindergarten, school and appropriate therapies and consequently are not integrated into society. Curative education, elements of Waldorf education, the pedagogy of Janusz Korczak and other forms of therapy are used in working with these children so that in the course of time half of the children can transfer to state institutions. Nadjeschda is a Russian name and means hope.

On behalf of the center, Karla Maria Schälike would like to thank you very much for the WOW-Day donations: "Thanks to your donation we can employ a caregiver for Djamillja, a girl with a particularly severe disability. In this way, we can provide better support, especially in the field of nursing care. On behalf of the children and staff, I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your help!
